Japanese Tea Garden

May 21, 2008

I’ve been reading Anne Fadiman’s Ex Libris since I bought it in San Francisco. And suddenly remembered what reading meant for me before I started reading books for class and going through chapters as if counting the pages left was all that matters. I want to go back to those books now and read them over again. They are waiting for me at the shelf. I even miss seeing all the books in my room in Madrid. Reading like that again, letting the book carry me away, was like entering a magical garden. A whole new world.
